General Information
Namaste,
If you have never been to Nepal before,
you're in for an amazing experience. Very little in Nepal
resembles life in the outside world. This is a place of
deep religious customs, the most radical topography on
earth, and one of the least developed infrastructures
in the world. Most of the population of Nepal are subsistence
farmers, living many days walk from the nearest road.
For many the only appreciable impact of the past five
hundred years has been the introduction of pressure cookers,
which have been scattered across the country to help reduce
the deforestation. Even flying into Nepal is a unique
experience. Aside from the spectacular mountain views,
veteran air travelers will find themselves amused by the
spectacle of clearing immigration at Kathmandu International
airport. This is not Heathrow… A flight from Kathmandu
to anywhere else in Nepal is more than worth the price
just for the views it provides. Once you leave the Kathmandu
valley there is little to remind you of the world you
have left behind. It's a great place to escape to and
learn from.
